PENANG MEDICAL TOURISM

Penang General Hospital or GH
Over the past ten years, medical tourism in Southeast Asia has boomed into a billion dollar industry. In Malaysia, Penang is the number one destination for those looking to heal and holiday.

Despite the world's economic wind down, medical tourism in Penang has seen an increase in revenue from Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)162mil (2009) to estimated MYR230mil (2010). And this is good sign in our economic future.

Besides public hospitals such as Penang General Hospitals (GH) and Kepala Batas Hospitals, there are many private hospitals in Penang especially in George Town such as Island Hospital, Pantai Hospitals, Gleaneagles Medical Centre and much more.

Pantai Mutiara Hospital
Both public and private hospitals are well equipped with the latest in medical technology and are run by well-trained medical professionals.

One of the main reasons why Penang becomes a famous hub for medical tourism is its good health services offered at affordable prices. Hopefully, the vision "Penang The Centre of Medical Excellence For Visitors" will be achieved.
